Baby Alex and I came home yesterday afternoon from a very nice and quiet 3 day stay in the hospital after my Friday night C-section. The hospital staff was very nice and attentive when they could be. The hospital was so busy delivering babies this weekend that I was actually in triage for 24 hours before getting my own room; talk about mommy and baby overflow. Friday morning at my weekly appointment my OB jinxed herself by asking me not to go into labor because the hospital was so packed. After 4 hours of contractions 20 minutes apart that started at 1pm, I finally called her and told her that it was her own fault; that I was having contractions and there was no stopping them this time. In the 2.5 hours from the time I talked to her and we got settled into our triage space the contractions were 6 minutes apart. We were in the OR an hour later having Alex beautifully scream into the world. He is handsome, mellow and is almost a spitting image of Zach when he was born. I cannot wait to see how his face changes in the next month.
Brother and sister have 2 completely different takes on baby brother. Zach is timid and unsure of what he is. It is adorable when he says "Alexander", but I don't quite think he cares to understand he is a little person. Bella on the other hand cannot get enough of looking and oggling at him, she is smitten.
Thank you to Gigi for being here the last few days, it would have been impossible without you.
Thank you to Rev Janie for stopping by several times and praying with our precious addition.
Thank you to everyone else for the flowers, edible arrangements, visits and most of all prayers.
Many blessings and love to you all!
