Ringing in the New Year...

...with a sick family!

Hello dear friends! That's right, the Delange household is sick. I had a sinus and ear infection last week. Isabella started having a runny nose on our trip home to Midland this past weekend. And just as I was starting to feel better...Bella gets worse (with a small virus)...and I have seemed to pick up some of what she has. Chris is barely hanging in there; his throat is sore and he is exhausted from taking care of his girls. I think this is our first official sharing of family ICK.

Our holidays were splendid! We had a wonderful visit with Chris' family in Florida to celebrate Christmas. And a pleasant week in New Braunfels with my family to ring in the New Year. My sinus infection kind of put a damper on most of that last week and any idea of a New Years celebration. But we did play Spades with Mom and Kim until we were all ready to pass out...from just being physically worn out from the holidays.

It was so nice to be back in our home this weekend. The hitch has been unpacking EVERYTHING. So many great gifts and new items to place in the house. As you can imagine, being sick has not aided in getting all the post holiday chores done. Our Christmas lights are still up in the front yard. Frosty and Rudolph continue to greet our neighbors during the day. Hopefully by this weekend we will all be feeling a little better and able to get back to some of these tasks.

Beyond being sick, Little Princess is doing quite well. She is crawling like a speed demon throughout the house, walking while holding on to everything, switching from one toy to another while standing. The catch is she doesn't want to stand on her own. We have been trying for several weeks now to get her to standing freely. But she just seems to want to sit or squat. Her legs are still pretty short compared to the rest of her body, so balance is an issue. She is baby talking up a storm. We wake up to her gabbering, which is adorable to me. It typically persists throughout the day as she makes a large variety of consinent and vowel sounds.

I added two preemie blogs to the side. Take a look if you have a chance. Happy New Year and many blessings to all of you. Peace & God Bless!

Delange Family, just wanted to say thanks for your support and for reaching out to us. You're right, this blogging thing is great and really helps me relief some stress by sharing our story and praising God. Glad to hear your little Bella is rocking along. All the best and Happy 2010! Steve
