Baby Bella Day 66

GRANMOMMY IS HERE!!! My mommy came in tonight about 9:30. I am so excited. This is the first time she has seen Isabella since her first week of life. Needless to say she has progressed so much and G-mommy was in awe when she got to see Bella. It was simply great to see the expression on my mom's face when she hunched over to see Isabella sleeping in person. I know that her being here is going to be good for me. She wanted to come while Chris was gone so that I wouldn't be alone for too long. Of course, at first, I thought I could make it on my own while Chris was away working. But the last two days have been humbling. I have just been edgy and concerned for some reason...actually got a tad home sick yesterday. Although Chris has been great about cheering me up, it will help me tremendously to have mom here till Chris comes "home" this weekend.

Isabella had an okay day. Her billirubin level is back up to 7.7...this is the jaundice measurement. They had not readjusted her actigal for her weight gain, so that might be why it went back up a little. As a precaution they are doing an ultrasound tomorrow. The head ultrasound came back clean; so everything in the brain area looks good. I was fortunate enough to view her first throw-up today too...this one I am not as excited about as I was the pooh! Even though Chris reassured me that all babies spit-up, it just freaked me out to see 5 mL of feed that just went in come right back out. I am hoping it was just that the feed went down too fast. I have plenty of questions to ask the NPs tomorrow.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and comments. It is all of your support that also helps me when I am here alone. I turn to your comments and emails and get uplifted.

Here is a prayer from the Mother's Manual (an aid to help all mothers through motherhood in connection with Mary the queen of all mothers):

FOR A GROWING INFANT
Tender Mother of the Infant Christ, my child is gaining every week. Thank you for the mother's concern you share with me. Nourish my baby always with your motherly care; speak to God with me and ask him to give this little one strong limbs and a healthy body; keep your mother's eye on it asleep and awake, so that my child, as yours, may grow in wisdom and age and grace with God and men. Amen.
