Baby Bella Day 57 cont.
Not much to report today, BORING IS GREAT!!! Bella is up to 1595 grams, which is just over 3lb 8oz. She had two one hour sessions on the high flow nasal cannula and did well. There is a chance she may be on the high flow cannula full time by the end of this coming week. And I know she will LOVE that. She absolutely despises the CPAP, constantly pulling at it and hitting the piece connecting to her nose. The only thing that the nurses are slightly concerned about is the piece of bowel sticking out on her right side (the mucous fistula). It appears to have developed a red ring around it that could be a skin infection, something they would treat with an antibiotic in her feeds. Pediactric surgery has looked at it and is not too concerned with it at this time. They will look at it again in the morning.
We miss all of you and look forward to seeing everyone soon, God Bless!!!
Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Baby B looks so beautiful! I am so excited that she is doing well. She is really becoming a "chunky monkey", lol! Give her a kiss from us!

She looks great and I am glad that she is doing well on her high-flow nasal cannula trials that is a great big step. She is just doing wonderful. That NICU is great, they pick up things before they become a problem I am so impressed. Hope you guys are doing well and enjoying your "chunky monkey". That is so funny you call her that because that is what I called Aubrey and still do.
