Baby Belly Day 31

Overall there is not much to report except that Isabella is hanging tough!!! We went back to visit with her early this evening and tonight. Both times all of her vitals were right where they needed to be. And for that we are extremely thankful. Her vent settings are kind of high for the conventional vent. Yet it is nice that her lungs are strong enough not to have to put her on the oscillating ventilator. There is a chance that she will be exhibated by the end of the week. That means they will take her completely off of a ventilator and will have another device called CPAP (we will describe that more when it happens). Feeds should also continue by the end of the week. Dr. McGahren continues to come by to look at her tummy and is still pleased with how everything is progressing. Her ostemy bag has air in it which is good to see. We thank God for all of the prayers and holding our baby girl in His hands.

Psalm 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Hook Em Horns. I am getting too old for all the suspense and excitement of these games. Glad to hear Bella is "hanging tough". It is amazing how strong preemie babies are. Prayers to you for strength and for Bella. LUV M

I found your blog through a friend, Lauren, Abby's mom. My family will keep Bella in our prayers. Our daughter, Emilie Hope, was born at UVA at 23 weeks, 3 days gestation. We spent 4 months in the NICU. Emilie is now 21 months old and is quite a handful! Emilie also had the PDA surgery and it really turned things around for her. So many of her problems got better and it was a short time before we were in the transition unit. I hope Bella continues to remain stable post surgery and your move to trans is soon as well!

Hey Chel, just letting you know that your prayers for rain were answered! We actually had a nice rain shower this morning. It's our turn to ask you to keep those prayers coming! = )

We all celebrate Bella's little victories in the office, and are so thankful that the surgery went well. Praying for more of God's blessings to be bestowed upon you.
