Baby Bella Day 11 cont.

First, I want to thank God for another day with Isabella! Second, my heart goes out to all the families we have been connected to through this experience...we appreciate all the support you are giving us in these first stages while you still have your own trials to face. Third, thank you to all our friends and family who continue to do nothing but show us love and prayer.

Prayer is so powerful. We have witnessed it so much in the first week and a half of Bella's precious life. I cannot tell you how many times I have prayed today; at many different venues and in many different circumstances. Today has been rough in my book. Each time we went to see Bella we were searching for good news. The only good news that we have is that the pediatric surgeons feel comfortable not operating on her at this time for her bowels. After reading her ultrasound from this afternoon, they seem to think there is a small perforation in her intestines after all (there was a small amount of particulate matter floating). Further observation showed the doctors that the feel of her abdomen was not serious. All of her other vitals remain strong (praise God), so they feel that they can let the antibiotics run their course and then assess further. Her breathing still appears to be good, along with her blood pressure and saturation. I am thankful for all the other factors being positive. Chris and I keep telling Bella each time we see her (which is usually 4 or 5 times a day) that she is strong, a fighter, stubborn, and in God's healing hands.

While looking at the other preemie blogs, I found this scripture and I would like to pass it on:

Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Thank God surgery is out for now! NEC is a scary thing. Have they officially called it Necrotizing Entrocolitus? I wholeheartedly believe God and prayer are the reasons all these mirco preemies thrive. I thank God everyday for my beautiful boy. I also pray for Bella and for her caretakers. She is a fighter and will continue to be strong!

God be with Isabella at this time as she needs you to help heal her stomach. She is so precious and is so loved by many already after a week and a half. I pray that You will use your healing powers to help her fight through this and also give her mommy and daddy strength and courage as they watch over baby Bella as she continues to grow and thrive in your light. I am comforted by your guidance that you will continue to provide for this wonderful family daily.

In Your Holy Name, Amen.

Chris and Machel,
I am Kayla Andersen's mom. She shared your story with me a few days ago. I am praying for you and have also sent prayer requests to several other friends. You are never far from my mind and prayers! I know that God has you all in his hands and there is no better place to be. I read your blog seveal times a day and pray for each thing you write.
