Baby Bella Day 3

Today was another early morning. I didn't get much sleep last night. Sleep actually didn't seem like an option at 1am, but exhaustion finally kicked in. I kept the TV going to drown out all the sounds outside the room. The nurses put a sign on the door asking for family rest time; yet with nurses and plenty of other families, that is hard to fulfill. Once 3:30am hit, I was wide awake and just kept thinking about my baby girl and talking with God; channelling as much positive energy as possible down to the floor below us. After an hour and a half of trying to relax in bed and calm my nerves, I decided to start my pumping for the day. I have been very fortunate this morning in those efforts. I packed the first round into 3 syringes, poked Daddy and we slowly walked down the hall half asleep in anticipation of what had happened during the nights (what seemed to be) long hours. Colleen was still on duty and she gave us another good bill of health from the evening. She even mentioned that Isabella's "princess" attitude kicked in when she wet her padding and held her little bottom up in the air on her own as if to say "get this wet thing off of me, eeewwweee!" We watched her do some suction on her lungs and get them clear in order for Bella to get better oxygen flow. All her other vitals were stable and indicating that she will be blessed with another good day.

She has made it through 36 beautiful hours...she is half way through the critical period, praise God! We have taken several pictures of Bella in her cozy little home. Our intention is to get those posted by this afternoon. The doctors here continue to be amazing and are letting me stay another night so we can stay close to our precious angel. We love you all!

Oh sweetie, 36 hours passed and many more to go! She sounds like a strong little angel and is going to be great over time!

"God bless this child and put your healing hands around her to keep her growing strong!"

I am so happy that she is doing so well and she is such a little fighter. Brian and I are praying for you guys and have you on many prayer circles to keep the power of prayer channeled towards your precious little angel. 36 hours and she is doing just wonderful. Keep your head up and take one step at a time.

Hi Machel, Bella is in our thoughts and prayers. I am so glad you had great doctors and nurses around you to take such good care of you and Bella. I will keep checking the blog to get updates, but Justin and I will be thinking if you guys. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you or your family. Love Andi & Justin

Thank you for keeping us updated on the blog.

We put you all on our Adult Bible Fellowship prayer list, so there are many people in South Texas praying for you.

Chris, have you had a chance to buy some more clothes? Will you be staying at the Hampton?

Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Love,
Mark and Rebecca

Rebecca,
I have continued to sleep in the chair next to Machel, but tomorrow we will be discharged and we will be staying at the Hampton Inn for a while. I did go buy some clothes, a couple of shirts, pants and a jacket and some running shoes. I bought Machel a few things too, we are good for a while.
I thank God every day for his divine wisdom and for having you at my wife and baby girl's side, I can't say it enough but THANK YOU!!
Love,
Chris

Machele, from one preemie mom to another...keep pumping that liquid gold! Call me if you need anything or just want a pep talk; I'll let you talk to Kaitlyn, my 31wk 2 pound preemie who is now a perfect 7 year old (taller and smarter than most of her class)!
