Baby Bella Day 4

This morning we woke up early, Machel at 5am and I woke up at 6am. We went downstairs with some more liquid gold to give it to the nurses and check on how our baby was doing. When we arrived Colleen told us that there were some problems this morning. At about 4am Isabella got pretty tired and she stopped breathing. Colleen raised her O2 levels all the way up to 40% for about a minute and Isabella started breathing again. She was breathing thanks to the ventalater the entire time, so she was still getting air pumped in. Colleen said she was looking pale and they had drawn over 10% of her blood, so it was time for a blood transfusion. On a positive note, right before we showed up Isabella ate her mommy's breastmilk again! When they checked her tummy, it had nothing in it, which means that she is eating and digesting her mommy's breastmilk! Yea, grow strong my little angel! So we stayed a little longer this morning to watch the blood transfusion and pray a little more for our baby. Here are some pictures of Colleen our amazing nurse in the NICU who has helped Isabella along during these first 60 hours of her life. I am also attaching pictures of Colleen giving Isabella her 1st blood transfusion.

Thank you for the pictures. What a precious baby. What a bootie, and that thigh and foot, Wow.

We know that she is comforted by you reading to her and just by being there with her. She knows that you are there and that is good medicine.

This is the moment that God has created you for. This is your time. Let God bless you, sustain you and draw you near to him and closer as a family.

We love you.

I just read your blog and it is absolutely beautiful - Bella will be so fortunate to one day be able to look back see how much love her parents had for her from the start and what a fighter she can be. My thoughts and prayers are with you both and with little Bella.
Love, Jessica (Williams)Kelly
