Baby Bella Day 6

Good morning all! We went to see our little girl this morning and saw that all was well. She did not gain much weight, only 5 grams, but she did not lose any so that is good. She also went poo last night!!! I read the chart, under stool it said "large amount". I was so happy, I did a little poo dance! She continues to have some slight breathing episodes, they removed some fluid from her lungs, but her O2 levels were down to 23-26% again, normal air has 21% Oxygen. And her Oxygen saturation remained relatively flat around 90. She still looks so little and precious and frail and I await every moment with hope that she will be ok. We are reading to her, Lullabyes, children's books and I have begun reading to her the bible. I am reading passages about faith and reading the many teachings of Jesus. I also read her Matthew 6 everyday, so that we can recite the Lord's prayer together. I am so very hopeful that when they decide to take her off of the respirator the Lord will give her the strength to breathe on her own! Well, we have many things that we need to do today, look for an apartment, rent a medical grade breast pump, get some of our things in order.
Thank you for the love and prayers and heartwarming words of encouragement. The power of the lord, jesus christ and the holy spirit are with us. We are thankful for the love of our friends and family.

We are celebrating all of Isabella's victories with you! So grateful for the 5 grams of weight gain and ANY size poo. Keep them coming, Bella!

We had our own poo dance when Matt's pipes started working (after surgery).

We can't stop thinking about your sweet baby girl. We are praying continually. (I wish I could hold her)

Chris and Machel,

Luke just sent along the link to your blog and I have just read and caught up on everything that has happened over the past 6 days. Wow. Simply wow. God does work in incredible ways and your faith and courage is so awesome. Bella is so incredibly lucky to have parents like you and I have no doubt your faith is pulling her through. You are all in my prayers.

Chris and Machel,

My name is Becky and I am a very good friend of Rebecca's from church. I have a nine year old special needs child who at birth spent quite a bit of time at Johns Hopkins PICU. Please know that I will be praying for your precious little girl and for you and your husband as well. Keep singing and reading to her because it truly makes a difference. To this day, my son calms down when he hears me singing or talking to him. Be sure that you are getting enough rest because Bella will need you even more the day she does come home. There is a book at any christian store called The book of Promises. My husband and I always kept it close by to read when we were happy, sad, scared or whatever. It is a book of verses that are catogorized into sections pertaining to situations. It was a godsend. Try to keep as positive as possible and know that we are praying for you in south Texas.
